Mother’s Day 2016
Mother’s Day is the day to celebrate your Mum and everything she does. For a mother of the bride or groom, the special day is all about the child, and the family as a whole. But on 6th March this year, mums around the country get their day in the sun (hopefully!). Mums will be treated and spoiled up and down the country – with everything from spa days and pamper days to meals out and shopping trips. However, our favourite option is to treat your mum to Afternoon Tea.
Why our favourite? Well, there’s no need to rush about. And the relaxed atmosphere is great for bringing everyone together in honour of Mum. They don’t need to be expensive to be special, just tasty and classy. You can even make your own at home!
Here are Gina Bacconi’s Top 5 places for Afternoon Tea this year:
Known as the birthplace of afternoon tea, treat your mum to their extra special Wedgwood afternoon tea, with delicate finger sandwiches and pretty cakes.
Manchester – Annies Manchester
Located just off St. Annes Square in the Royal Exchange, you and your mum can enjoy a classic afternoon tea at Annie’s with a selection of traditional sandwiches and loose leaf tea.
Betty’s tea rooms have been serving afternoon tea for 96 years – which means that it has been perfected so you can make this Mother’s Day a really special occasion for your mum.
For a contemporary afternoon tea, head to Tigerlily for a tiger tea party and scrumptious sweet and savory treats.
Your House!
You can make afternoon tea extra special by surprising your mum and having it at your own house. Why not make some bunting and get the grandchildren to help to make the sandwiches, to make this a great family get-together!
